It started with excruciating pain.
In February 2017, I was having excruciating pain, stomach mostly and back pain. It was Pancreatitis. I was admitted to the Hospital as soon as the doctor found out my pancreas was 2x the normal size.
They also said I have Type 2 Diabetes.
"I have known people who use insulin. I even had a friend close to me die of Diabetes."
With everything I went through, that very news was most detrimental to me. I felt depressed.
I owned a restaurant and a fast-food place. Food was my life.
I'm a person that has deep roots in Christian faith. I believe In God, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I've done a lot in my life to cut the things that weren't beneficial to my faith — but food wasn't one of them.
Now to hear this. I thought I had to become a Vegan (not that that's bad) and stop eating the food I once loved.
I remember praying, like we all do, saying "oh, God, if you can heal me from this, I'll do my part too."
After 3 days in the hospital and watching videos of living with type 2 diabetes, I was discharged.
Then a nurse handed me my discharge papers.
If you want to get better, cut some Okra put in a cup with water leave overnight and drink the next day.A nurse, on Hector's discharge day, 2017
Truth be told, I did not know what Okra was.
I went to a few grocery stores, but all they had was frozen or canned Okra. Finally, I found some fresh Okra.
I drank Okra for about a year.
At the same time, I took less prescription medicine. I did my part in exercising — while enjoying some foods I like, in moderation though.
My last check-up:
Boy! I praised God!!!
Now I want to share my experience.
